About Us

HELPING YOU BUILD A CULTURE OF
POSITIVE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE

With over 20 years industry experience we like to think we know a thing or two about helping companies implement well thought out employee benefits and engagement programmes.

When it comes to engagement and employee experience, we believe that employee benefits and technology are just two of the many important stepping stones towards creating a culture that is truly special for your employees, making them brand ambassadors, changing their perceptions and how they think about who they work for.

Over the last two decades we’ve been busy helping employers implement innovative and exciting products and services, carefully selected through our extensive and fully managed network of strategic partners. This has helped our customers create exciting and dynamic employee value propositions that not only engage but have the flexibility to evolve and change – adapting to market trends and employee needs.

As the sector is an ever-changing landscape, we are also passionate about research – it is key to what we do, bringing fresh ideas, market insights and innovation to the tables of our clients. Throw in to the mix the creative talents of our very own in-house design agency, TRCREATIVE then you really can start thinking outside the box. Whether that’s simply adding some pazazz to your existing communications or developing an exciting brand and digital marketing strategy that aligns with the touch points of your employees.

A message from our Founder

Richard Rankin

It seems a long time since I first entered the world of employee benefits in 1995.  In the early days it was a very different place, not as crowded but certainly as much fun and as interesting as it is today, even without all the sassy technology. Printed booklets, posters and a handful of providers dipping their toes in the water set the foundations for what was to come… and how things have changed!

The face of the UK workplace has changed considerably and so have the expectations of employees in terms of what they expect from their employer. Aligning benefits with different demographics, needs and desires has never been so important. Health and wellbeing, retirement and salary remain high on the agenda but financial education, mental health and work life balance and flexible working are rapidly gaining popularity as essential elements in any value proposition, especially for the younger generation. Any business can move towards building a culture of positive employee experience by adopting these components and by communicating them effectively to ensure they are within reach of every employee.

It is a personal view and one perhaps that not everyone will agree with but employee experience is rapidly cementing itself as the bedrock for achieving higher levels of engagement within an organisation. Implementing new benefits or a new platform is a step in the right direction but won’t achieve the ultimate objective without further involvement from the employer – it’s as simple as that.

Creating the right culture, one which engenders employee satisfaction and loyalty encompasses many aspects including finding new ways to facilitate communication or improving the surroundings in which employees work. In some cases, easier said than done and often requiring investment but companies can still make advancements by adopting new initiatives and ideas that make their colleagues feel better and happier at certain touch points throughout their employee life cycle.

Meet the leadership team

Richard Rankin CEO

Founder of Team Rewards, Richard has spent 20 enjoyable years in the industry. He's a friendly guy with a passion for meeting people, learning about their businesses and building long term relationships. Always on the look out for new ideas and a classic networker, he has helped many companies establish themselves in the sector.

In his spare time he still likes to use the skills he picked up in his early years as a qualified chef and regards the kitchen as HIS domain. The family always comes first and he is a proud husband, father and owner of a Jack Russell named 'Teacup'.

Darren Smith Director

Formerly a management consultant working across different sectors, Darren has spent the last 12 years in the industry. He loves the challenge presented by different client organisations, and enjoys working with people to improve existing processes as well as developing entirely new business models.

When not working, he is an avid swimmer and runner, but like most parents spends the majority of his spare time operating a taxi service for the children. The family own a rabbit called 'Storm in a'.

Mike Lawson Digital Director

Mike heads up our digital team and has been with us for over 11 years. He loves anything tech and keeps himself busy with anything IOT, particularly digital marketing, SEO and web development.

His two children keep him busy outside of work although he still makes the effort to visit the gym where he spends most of his time looking at himself in the mirror!

Lynsey Edwards Creative Director

As a member of the Chartered Society of Designers, Lynsey (Lynz) started her career working in London and joined us in 2007. She is a creative thinker with exceptional graphic design skills and a great sense of humour to go with it.

She enjoys a good rave and when not sneaking off with the girls and strutting her stuff on the dance floor loves to spend most of her spare time with her husband and young daughter.
